Chapter 3 Documents
What was interesting to me about chapter 3 was the empires and civilizations in collision: The Persians and the Greek. It was interning for me because of the first few sentences. It was the millennium between 500 B.C.E. and 500 C.E. in North Africa and Eurasia witnessed the flowering of second wave civilizations in the Mediterranean world, the Middle East, India, and China. I thought it was very interesting how each established their own political system, cultural values, and ways of organizing their own societies. Another thing I thought was pretty cool was the Persian Empire. The Persians conquest was quickly reached from Egypt to India, encompassing in a single state some 35 to 50 million people, and immensely diverse realm containing dozens of people, states, languages, and cultural traditions. Reading about the greeks was interning to learn about too. Like the Persians, Greeks were an Indo-European people whose early history drew on the legacy of the first civilization. ...
